Park Avenue looking west circa 1906. In the late 1880's, Cornelius Christie, Leonia's first mayor, purchased a piece of farmland now known as Park Avenue. Along with his brother-in-law Edward Stagg, who was the first president of the Board of Education, they built homes and called the area Villa Sites of Leonia. |
